Traffix Group conducted a microsimulation analysis of the road network surrounding this shopping centre in south-eastern Melbourne as part of the Bunjil Place development.
The project involved collecting and analysing extensive transport data through on-site surveys. Microsimulation modelling using VISSIM software included existing conditions models for the Friday PM peak period and Saturday lunchtime peak period, and nine possible road network and intersection scenarios.
The outputs of the project included a detailed report of the models for each scenario, improvement recommendations for roads and intersections, and video ‘fly-overs’ of the road network using each scenario.
