Our involvement included the development of a revised carparking layout, conduct of vehicle swept path assessments, consideration for multiple car parking options and improvements to signage and linemarking.

The considerations included passenger movement and amenity, vehicle access, parking for private cars, taxis and hire cars, vehicle circulation including freeway access, public transport and cycle access, commercial and freight transport access.

Specific consideration was given to staged ground transport upgrade requirements for the airport and its precinct developments into the future.

Our role involved the design and development of splitter islands and rumble bars on Davis Road, where drivers were failing to give way at the intersection with Dohertys Road.

After the project obtained Black Spot funding, we completed the detailed design and conducted a road safety audit.

Our initial work included development of the intersection layout through SIDRA transport modelling, and after the project was approved we prepared detailed plans for the civil works and traffic signal layout.

Our role included a detailed design of the signals, including a traffic signal plan. It also involved consultation with PTV to ensure that the proposed pedestrian-operated traffic signals would not adversely affect tram services, and that the signals location allowed for future upgrades to tram stops along Smith Street.

The project involved separation of the tram lanes from road traffic between Flinders Street and City Road, and the construction of DDA-compliant platform stops and modifications to signalised intersections.

We prepared a traffic impact assessment for the project for review and approval by VicRoads and the City of Melbourne.
