We provided traffic and transport engineering services through the town planning process and expert witness work through two VCAT hearings.
Detailed analysis of existing and post-development traffic conditions with a high level of innovation, as well as detailed swept path analysis was required to assess the application.

Traffix Group undertook a Transport Impact Assessment of the two expansion phases, including data collection, design advice, traffic generation, distribution and impact analysis, queue length analysis and pedestrian accessibility review.

Traffix Group provided traffic engineering services including traffic generation, distribution and impact assessments and sustainable transport assessments (pedestrian/cycle networks and access to public transport).

We assisted with the precinct structure plan and traffic engineering assessments for permit approvals for the subdivision and internal subdivision layouts.

Our work has also involved preparing concepts and detailed designs of interim and final road networks, traffic signals, roundabouts, shared paths, acceleration/deceleration lanes onto Western Freeway, and obtaining successful approvals by Melton Council and VicRoads.

The project involved collecting and analysing extensive transport data through on-site surveys. Microsimulation modelling using VISSIM software included existing conditions models for the Friday PM peak period and Saturday lunchtime peak period, and nine possible road network and intersection scenarios.

The outputs of the project included a detailed report of the models for each scenario, improvement recommendations for roads and intersections, and video ‘fly-overs’ of the road network using each scenario.

Our role included using SIDRA transport modelling to assess options for the location and arrangement of proposed tram stops.
