We provided traffic and transport engineering services through the town planning process and expert witness work through two VCAT hearings.
Detailed analysis of existing and post-development traffic conditions with a high level of innovation, as well as detailed swept path analysis was required to assess the application.

Traffix Group was engaged to provide traffic engineering services at the town planning stage including basement and access design, swept path diagrams, car parking occupancy surveys, transport engineering assessments and reporting.

Traffix Group services included data collection, modelling of the traffic impacts, assessment of the car parking and bicycle parking requirements, transport design requirement advice and preparation of a Transport Impact Assessment Report.

A secondary assessment was also undertaken for this project, wherein ‘sensitivity testing’ was conducted to provide confidence to the project team that a higher development yield (750 – 2,000+ dwellings) could be accommodated by the surrounding road network and other potential implications should the yield be revised and increased.

Extensive research was undertaken into electronic billboards and their impact on driver performance. Field investigations, in-car video and GPS location data were used to assess the potential impacts of the sign.

The signs are now operational.

Traffix Group prepared a Traffic Engineering Assessment during the planning approval process and prepared a Traffic Management Plan for the construction stage.

We also assisted the client with discussions and negotiations with Council and DTP to gain relevant agreements for the extent of external road works.

Traffix Group prepared a Traffic Engineering Assessment for the planning application and responded to DTP comments that led to the issue of a Planning Permit.

During the planning process, we responded to DTP to justify a reduced extent of external intersection works that were required.
